Random Thoughts From A Random Mind.

It's hot and you wanna stay inside, which means you have plenty of time be think and these are the things i think about:

Sports.

Steroids. Yes still thinking about that one, and wondering why all these athletes think that taking these is a good idea? Don't they know that if they get caught no one will ever look at them the same, no one will ever trust them, and everything they have accomplished will never count? So c'mon let's stop with the steroids, PED's, and all things to enhance, and play the game because yeah it's even if you get paid millions a GAME.

Cheating or accepting money or gifts for ANYTHING in collage sports.
O.k. this one should be a no brainer. Recently we've heard about collage players accepting money or gifts and this MUST come to a stop! Some of the most prestigious awards have been yanked away from players for doing this. One of the most celebrated programs in the country has lost players, a coach, and their entire season over allegations of players trading stuff for TATTOOS! Why is all of this happening? Maybe because these players are making money r some deep discounts on their education, and they must pass or they get nothing. If these players get that for their play, we might stop this epidemic in our collage sports.

Pro Wrestlers & Death. A Fans Point Of View.

Yesterday I learned of the death of "Macho Man" Randy Savage. Apparently he had a heart attack and smashed his car into a tree.  Like many of my generation,I grew up watching him along with Hulk Hogan, The Ultimate Warrior, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Ric Flair, and The Undertaker to name a few. Today we hear all the time about there deaths, which is the normal process of life, people die. The only problem is that all too often these people are still young when this happens. A few years ago we learned of the death of Chris Benoit, the wrestler who killed his wife and son and then himself. When a study done on his brain by Dr. Julian Bailes Head of Neurosurgery at West Virginia University the results showed that "Benoit's brain was so severely damaged it resembled the brain of a 85 year old Alzheimer's patient." There are other examples of wrestlers dying at a young age and from not so natural deaths. Edward Fatu also known as "Umaga" passed away in 2009 from a heart attack at 36, Andrew Martin A.K.A "Test" died at 33 from a oxycodone overdose, "Ravishing" Rick Rood died in 1999 from a heart attack at 40, he had once testified to taking anabolic steroids, Curt "Mr. Perfect" Henning died from Acute Cocaine Intoxication. One of my favorite wrestlers was Eddie Guerrero, in 2005 after a show here in Indianapolis he was found dead in his hotel room in Minneapolis, MN. He died  of acute heart failure. Suicide, drug overdoses, heart failures, addictions to pain pills and steroids, how do these guys (and Gals) live the way they do with the constant threat of severe injury always tucked in there mind? How do they go on when the show stops?

Give Jim Irsay the damn ball!

Tired of the N.F.L. lockout like me? Well instead of sending Jerry Jones or Demourice Smith maybe we should listen to the sage advice of one Jim Irsay. Irsay made these comments on his Twitter account:

"Jeff Saturday and I could get this thing done,on cocktail napkins, over a long lunch at Rick's Boatyard," Irsay wrote on his Twitter account today. "it's not that hard! Everyone's so damn serious, suits, briefcases, lawyers! Let's put on jeans n golf clothes,players/owners remembering we're friends, hang a little."

"Every time we argue about who's fault it is and who did that and who said this..spin,spin,spin..who cares! Get something done!"

"I ain't riding no bull like Chad thou,not even 4 new C.B.A.!!!!!!"

"For every week after july 15 that's there's no new CBA,self-imposed players/owners fines 2 fan charities..get out of the courts!"

"Drop all lawsuits,waste of time n $,get 2 collective bargaining,have equally,self-imposed fines on players n owners going 2 fan's charities"

"The mantra is not end lockout,it's get new collect. bargain. agreement. We have no CBA at this point,an obvious fact that gets lost n shuffle"  So let's grab a couple of beers and work this out, guys!  it can't be THAT hard to do Let's get back to FOOTBALL. Let's get back  to what we love Let's get back to the greatis sport in this Country Let's get back to the basics. Lead, Follow, Of Get The Hell Outta My Way!!- Gen George S. Patton.
